The river Vilnia is dyed annually in bright, emerald green for the celebration of St. Patrick’s Day. This idea was originated in Chicago in the sixties when Irish plumbers discovered an entirely harmless way of dyeing the water.
The Oldest Tree in Europe
The Oak of Stelmuze is officially the oldest tree in all of Europe. Most probably this oak is 1,500 to 2,000 years old. It is hard to say precisely because the years can not be tracked as the inner part of the trunk has been removed to save the tree. The oak measures 3 meters in diameter and 13 meters in girth in its widest part. As for the oak, the height of Stelmuze Oak is an impressive 23 meters!
“The Scent of Lithuania.”
Lithuania is the only country in the world which found its aroma, called “The Scent of Lithuania.” This aroma is exceptional because of its pleasant smell which consists of the notes of wild flowers, ginger, raspberry, sandalwood, and musk. Make sure you try it out yourself and bring this aroma to your beloved ones as souvenirs, they will be delighted.
