People tend to think of Lithuania as being cold all the time. That’s not true!
In fact, Lithunia has several beach and resort cities, one of which is the city of Palanga. Here we share our suggestions about what you should see and do in Palanga:
Birute’s Park and Amber Museum
Birute’s Park is one of the most beautiful parks in Eastern Europe. The beauty of this park lies in a reflection of Botanic flower gardens, rivers, the Amber Museum and roads for pedestrians, and cyclists. In the summer time, classical music and the famous orchestra of Palanga concerts take place in this park. Birute’s Park is one of the best places in Lithuania to enjoy a quiet, relaxing environment for families and people who are passionate about nature.
The Amber Museum is located in Birute Park, in the former palace of earl Feliksas Tiskevicius. The Amber Museum has exhibitions of Lithuanian gold and also hosts educational tours for visitors.
In Palanga, you can find modern and developed roads that are made for pedestrians and cyclists. Cyclists can use seaside roads to travel among Palanga or go outside the resort to visit Nida and Sventoji. At the same time, you can visit touristic places; there are guidelines to all the places.
J. Basanavicius street
J. Basanavicius street is the most popular one in Palanga because it leads directly to the beach. In this street, there are many attractions for tourists, markets, souvenir shops, night clubs and cafes. In the summer time, J. Basanavicius street is crowded all the time during the day. You will not be bored because you will find too many things to do and try in this main pedestrian street in Palanga.
At the end of J. Basanavicius street, there is an entrance to the sandy beach. By the way, the beach is huge, so there shouldn’t be any problems finding a suitable spot for you. The Baltic sea can be a little bit chilly by comparison if you are living in hotter countries. In addition to this, the sea is very clean and not so salty, so we are sure that you will have a great time. In this beach, you can find dozens of cafés, volleyball fields, water attractions and many spots to spend time if you prefer sitting under the tree on the beach.
Nightlife in Palanga
Nightlife in this resort city is very active, especially in the summer season. A lot of locals and tourists, like to have a glass of beer and enjoy their time or spend a crazy night in the disco club. During the summer, there are many fests in the disco clubs, and sometimes DJ’s come to this resort city just to perform and have a wild party. For people who do not enjoy traditional nightlife, there are options such as enjoying the evening in a cafe or watching a beautiful sunset from the beach or the Palanga bridge.
